The first winterstorms...
The first winter storms come with extreme clear obscures. One moment all is lit brilliantly and the next second it seems night with torrential rains slashing the earth. Nobody freely goes about in this raw weather. Chilly winds, icy rain. A feast of colors, contrasts, smells and movement.
Marine lake in West Kirby, west Wirral. It's a small village where the river Dee mingles with the Irish Sea. Great views to Wales, close to the marshes with hundreds of bird species, endemic or migratory. The painting is oil on canvas and it's based on on-site sketches and self made photo's. The painting is in a private collection on the Wirral.
