Contrasts...

Drawn in charcoal some 10 years ago, inspired by a big horizontal composed painting of Parkgate which hangs in a friends house, I finally decided that it's time to pick up the palette knife and finish it. As an exception, this one is painted in-house...

A different approach and consequently a different technique... Interesting! There is no need to grab he moment, no spontaneity, no light changes. Just paint what you want to show based on memories and mood... You automatically go into more details, more tone values opposed to what I was looking for in plein air painting...
