Vienna, Austria, 2004. Metro station Karlsplatz. Waiting for your metro in a concrete, steel and metal smelling environment.

I painted this oil in 2004. It shows the interior of the Karlplatz metro station and is created using a series of photographies. It's a place of contrasts, up above an entrance designed by Otto Wagner in the Art Nouveau style and down below a modern, funcional design of steel and concrete.
