Chasing shadows...

My first plein air painting. Painted on a sunny late summer day on the marshy coast between West Kirby and Hoylake, England. Splendid weather. I remember trying to catch the ever changing light and its effect on the water. Chasing shadows... On the right you can see MIddle Eye, one of the two little islands that accompany Hilbre Island. On the left you can appreciate Wales. On the other side, where the river Dee and the Irish see mingle.
